BOU AVENUE
Moraine Lake Ski

Taking advantage of good early season snow conditions, Zosia Zgolak and I skied to Moraine Lake in Alberta's Banff National Park on 19 November 2016.  The access road was very busy on this day as hordes of eager skiers came out to shake off the rust.  Few of them ventured past the avalanche warning sign a few kilometres before the lake, and Zosia and I enjoyed some solitude there before rejoining the hordes on our ski out.  Despite the lack of views at the lake due to the weather, it was still nice to get the first ski of the season out of the way and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.
I want new skis now too! Zosia is ecstatic about trying out her brand new light touring skis at the start of the road to Moraine Lake.
Yawn... Sonny shuffles along the road with Mount Temple rising above the trees.

This is where the adventure really begins...LOL! Zosia pauses briefly just past the avalanche warning sign (not visible here) where most skiers turn around.
It's rare to see the Rockpile devoid of people! At Moraine Lake, the Tower of Babel rises high above the Rockpile.
It's a shame about the weather and lack of views! Zosia arrives at snow-covered Moraine Lake.
Time for Barpa Bill's? Sonny gets ready for the long ski back to his car.
