From where we parked on Caramillo Road (49.90595, -119.46653), Zosia and I walked past some condominium complexes to the start of a couple of pedestrian pathways at the base of Mount Knox's southeastern slopes. We followed the higher pathway which eventually turns uphill and to the south. Where the pathway begins to descend, we abandoned it to take a short but steep trail to the crest of Mount Knox's south ridge. On the ridge crest, we took a short detour to check out a viewpoint near a bench before turning northward to climb over a subsidiary bump followed by a final steep pull up to the open summit. The summit is an excellent viewpoint and more than worth the miniscule effort to reach it.
For our descent, Zosia and I dropped back
down the south side of the summit block, but instead of climbing over the
subsidiary bump, we turned onto a mountain biking trail which takes a
no-nonsense line down the east side of the mountain. We ultimately
connected with the lower of the two aforementioned pedestrian pathways,
and the remaining walk back to our car was quick and pleasant.

Zosia opts for a staircase at the
start of the ascent. She will later come back along the pathway
on the right.

Zosia passes a bench near the south end of Mount Knox. The summit
is the distant bump just right of centre.

Zosia approaches the summit block.

Sonny and Zosia stand on the summit of
Mount Knox (647 metres).

Blue
Grouse Mountain stands out to the northwest across Okanagan Lake.

The view to the east includes
Mount Dilworth in the foreground.

For the descent, Zosia takes a more
direct route down the east side of Mount Knox.
