BOU AVENUE
Golden Getaway 2015

My friends and I were back in the Inukshuk (Lush Mountain Accommodations) at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, British Columbia on 25-28 June 2015 for our annual extended weekend retreat.  Participants this year included Jill Cameron, Matt Leith, Sean Mair, Scott Mair, Jerry Scapillati, Shelley Skelton, Scott Warner, and myself.  Blessed with hot, sunny weather all weekend, we enjoyed two full days of golf at nearby Golden Golf Club.  Shelley and I also managed to squeeze in a memorable hike after taking the resort's gondola to the top of the ski area.  Another highlight for me was visiting the home of Josée Ménard and Fabrice Carrara (goldenscrambles.ca) and getting to meet all their dogs and cats.  I reciprocated by inviting them back to the Inukshuk the following evening for dinner with my friends.  On the last day, I left the Inukshuk before dawn to join Josée and Fabrice for yet another memorable hike.

I want to thank Scott M. for organizing the trip and booking our tee times.  A big thanks also goes out to Scott W. for supplying the main courses for three fantastic dinners.  My terrible golfing aside, it was an amazingly fun weekend, and I am already looking forward to next year's retreat.
See the actual Inukshuk? Scott M. and Scott W. poke their heads out on the balcony deck of the Inukshuk at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
Sean is in his comfort zone! Sean writes code in a comfortable chair.
Jill looks like she's in her comfort zone! Matt, Scott W. and Jill enjoy their drinks on the balcony deck.
Cheers! Shelley is all smiles as she raises her beer.
Or adding his own "special steak sauce"! Scott M. appears to be taking a leak on the barbeque!
And the pig goes, "oink oink"! While playing with a children's farm animal sounds toy, Sean is distracted and amused by his dad's barbeque antics.
Nothing but medium-rare! Scott M. is a master chef when it comes to barbequing meat.
Mmmmm...what a fantastic meal! Sonny's dinner looks delicious!
And "Chlamydia" takes the lead!! The group plays the horse race board game for the evening's entertainment.
Jill! Bear!!! A black bear (see digitally enhanced inset photo) nonchalantly walks across the fairway on Hole 10.
A beautiful but difficult hole. Jill prepares to tee off on the signature Hole 11.  Holt Creek runs along the right side while Mount Seven is visible in the distance.
Matt, are you still drunk?! Matt hits a straight drive down the fairway on Hole 11.
Hey ball!! Scott W. addresses the golf ball on the fairway.
Nice swing, Shelley! Shelley tees off on Hole 6 for the second time on this day.  Moberly Peak is visible behind her.
It's gonna be another hot day! The group poses for a photo before teeing off on the second day of golf.  From L to R are Sonny, Scott M., Shelley, Scott W., Jill, and Matt.
